About Us!

Hallo!  Willkommen to the Haus of Hughes!  If you were to walk in our front door, you'd be welcomed by our two "attack" you dogs Bella & Chloe.  They assume any and all people that ring the doorbell are here to see them, and only them.  They will ferociously lick you to death and trample you down till you pet them and love on them, the entire visit.  And I mean, the entire visit.  You will be sick of my dogs by the time you leave.

After you've been welcomed by the welcoming committee, you will then have to make your own pathway through legos, building blocks,  various plastic balls and other random trucks, cars and toys strewn throughout the living room.  These are all accompanied buy a super cute 22 month old toddler who will either wave to you and smile so cute you will have to immediately hug him, or run to the doggie door and say "side" (his version of outside) and will have you play with his water table, swing on the swing or draw with chalk on his easel.  So be prepared to play outside, for copious amounts of hours during your visit.  I speak from experience.  ;)

So after getting slobbered on by two huge labs, nearly sweat to death in the backyard playing for hours on end with lil' hoss; you'd eventually see myself and my hubby Kenny meandering around the house doing one of these or all of these things: cleaning up a mess of some sort, deciding on whether to take the basket of laundry upstairs that's been on the couch for a few days,  making a meal for whatever time it is to eat, yelling at the dogs to stop licking Holden, telling Holden to stop hitting the dogs or trying to sit on them, yelling to each other while one of us is upstairs and one of us is downstairs and missing half of what the other person was attempting to say, and then eventually sitting down for playtime or a meal, but not sitting for long, because what toddler likes to sit through a meal without letting his parents eat hot food?  Uhhh, nope!

Soooo, in a nutshell, we are first time parents to our son Holden and learning every step of the way and LOVING every minute of it.  I (try to) blog at least 2-3 times a week, which HA! as you've seen doesn't always happen.  I've gone three months at at time without a peep!  But I am trying to get better at it,  as it's used to give me a place to vent when needed, document our special moments as a family, Holden's milestones and keep family updated on all that happens in our lives since we all spread out over the states.

Enjoy your stay as you visit, hopefully weekly!
